The Guangzhou-Hong Kong Service Centre for the Youth marked its 10th anniversary with a carnival celebration “Leap and Grow” on 22 January.

The celebration was joined by provincial, municipal and district government officials, as well as representatives from volunteering teams and local schools.

Established in 2005, the Centre provides services primarily for primary and secondary students. The initiative – the first of its kind in the municipality – has reached out to close to 30,000 people.

The Centre has also devoted to advance the development of social work practices in Guangzhou by offering placement opportunities to approximately 30 social work students, as well as students who are undertaking related training.
