Ripples Action brought festive cheer to Yuen Long residents ahead of Christmas.
The festive season is fast approaching and Ripples Action has taken the lead to spread the joy on 12 December.
Over a hundred residents have gained some legal and financial management tips, followed by the successful conclusion of Ripples Action @ Yuen Long.
The Guest of Honour, Miss Annie Tam, Permanent Secretary for Labour and Welfare acknowledged the endeavour to promote positive changes in women’s lives at Ripples Action since 2008 during her address.
The half-day event has also offered residents Pap tests, stress analysis and blood tests, for free.
Mr Stephen Yau, Chief Executive of International Social Service Hong Kong (ISS-HK) and one of the event’s initiator, was impressed that Ripples Action has continued its effort to render support and encouragement to the community at large.
“Residents have benefited through Ripples Action and our relationship is a two-way street,” said Mr Yau in his welcoming speech.
“By participating, residents are also playing a part in bringing harmony to our society and reinforced the connection between Ripples Action and the broader community”.
Co-organised by Yuen Long Town Hall, Ripples Action @ Yuen Long was launched by ISS-HK, Association of Women Accountants, Hong Kong Federation of Women Lawyers, The Hong Kong Women Doctors Association, Hong Kong Federation of Women and Narcotics Division of Security Bureau.
Dr Ellen Li Charitable Foundation was the honorary sponsor.
