Services for Families

Objectives

Provide cross-boundary or international social services to help individuals or families divided by geography, with the assistance of ISS international network.
Whom We Serve

Any individuals and families with social problems arising from geographical separation between Hong Kong and other territories/countries.
Service Contents
Through ISS local and global network, we provide:

(I) Casework Service
- Court reports to local and overseas authorities;
- International/cross border family mediation;
- International tracing service;
- Cross-boundary and international family counseling
- Pre-migration counseling
- Service for cross-boundary students and their families
- Ripples Academy for Women Empowerment
(II) Centre Service

Our Sheung Shui Centre provides
- Hotline service handled by social workers: (852) 6816-0986 / (86) 132-6816-0986
- Language courses and Induction Programme for new arrivals
- Groups and programmes for new arrivals and cross-boundary children, youth and families to help them adapt to the life in Hong Kong
- Welcome calls to new arrivals from mainland China to conduct initial assessment and introduce them to local social services
(III) Other Services

International Child Protection Service
- Provide child protection services for overseas child protection authorities and divided families between mainland China and overseas. (Click here to International Child Protection Service website)
(IV) Overseas Prisoners Service
- Visit to Hong Kong residents serving sentences in Thailand.
(V) Emergency Fund for Divided Families
- Provide financial relief for divided families who encounter unexpected family crisis in Hong Kong

Service Entry

The programme accepts referrals from individuals, local governmental and non-governmental organizations as well as the ISS Network
Service Exit
- Upon completion of the agreed plan
- As mutually discussed between social worker and service user

Tue-Fri: 9am-1pm / 2pm-5:45pm
