Cross-Boundary and Inter-Country Social Service
- Objectives
Provide cross-boundary or international social services to help individuals or families divided by geography, with the assistance of ISS international network.
- Whom We Serve
Any individuals and families with social problems arising from geographical separation between Hong Kong and other territories/countries.
- Service Contents
Through ISS local and global network, we provide:
(I) Casework Service
- Court reports to local and overseas authorities*
- International tracing service*
- Cross-boundary family counseling*
- Service for cross-boundary students and their families*
(II) Centre Service
Our Sheung Shui Centre provides
- Language courses for new arrivals*
- Induction Programme for new arrivals
- Groups and programmes for new arrivals and cross-boundary children, youth and families to help them adapt to the life in Hong Kong*
- Welcome calls to new arrivals from mainland China to conduct initial assessment and introduce them to local social services. Hotline service: (852) 6816-0986 / (86) 132-6816-0986 *
(III) Other Services
International Child Protection Service
- Provide child protection services for overseas child protection authorities and divided families between mainland China and overseas.
Overseas Prisoners Service
- Visit to Hong Kong residents serving sentences in Thailand.
Emergency Fund for Divided Families
- Provide financial relief for divided families who encounter unexpected family crisis in Hong Kong
"Build North District"
- Through various volunteer services, this project facilitates interaction between participants and other community members, fosters a sense of social responsibility, and helps them integrate into the neighborhood, working together to build a more cohesive and harmonious society.
"Beat Drug · Starts at Home"
- Adopting a family-based approach, this project equips participants with knowledge about the harms of drugs and drug-related criminal liabilities, enhances personal anti-drug awareness, builds positive family relationships, and fosters happy families and a caring community—ensuring that drug prevention truly starts from the "home."

The programme accepts referrals from individuals, local governmental and non-governmental organizations as well as the ISS Network

- Upon completion of the agreed plan
- As mutually discussed between social worker and service user
