Bowen Theory Conference 2015 a resounding success
Parents, parent educators and helping professionals were invigorated and inspired at the two-day Bowen Theory Conference 2015 held on June 25-26 as it came to a successful conclusion.
In the face of an increasing challenge of parenting, participants were eager to learn more about effective parenting in order to become the best possible version of parents.
“Awareness of how trying to ‘help’ the child can impede change,” as the Conference Speaker Mrs. Kathleen B. Kerr elaborated on one of the key points to demystify the myths and realities of parenting for participants.
The Conference was officially opened by Chief Executive of ISS-HK, Mr. Stephen Yau as he made his welcoming remarks and presented the Certificates of Appreciation to the five sponsors, Hong Kong Children & Youth Services, Wofoo Social Enterprises, Family Services of Caritas-Hong Kong, Hong Kong Family Welfare Society and Yang Memorial Methodist Social Service.
The Conference which focused on parenting viewed through Attachment Theory and Bowen Theory (day 1) and Child Focus in Families (day 2) was further enriched by a follow-up discussion with our speaker.
The Bowen Theory Conference, with the theme The Ties That Bind was held at the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups Building in North Point had attracted close to 200 participants attending.
